a new discovery

Inga and Izzy enjoying one of the waterfalls
After living in Rochester my whole life I have discovered a new park!   Last week I took the girls to Corbetts Glen, it is so beautiful there!  We walked in Allens Creek and climbed on the waterfalls.  We even found a rope swing that someone had tied to a tree, the girls spent alot of time swinging into the water.  I think they would have done it longer if they weren't so cold. I even took them back the next day to play again!  We had a great time.  Ingrid has already asked when we were going back.

cake pops

My sister had her graduation party this weekend, so I decided to make some cake pops for the occasion.  or anyone who isn't familliar with them, its like a cake lollipop. I convinced Izzy, Inga and 2 of their friends to help me make them so it got done pretty quickly. We made red velvet and some oreo ones, covered them in either milk chocolate or pink chocolate and decorated them.  Izzy arranged them very nicely in a flower pot and they were super cute and yummy too!  After we finished making all those pops I took tmy 4 helpers to the pool for a swim.  We had a great time swimming playing games and doing crafts. It was a great start to the weekend.

loud noises and dive meets

Inga had her first dive meet of the year today, she was so excited... until we got there.  She took one look at the speakers used to announce the divers and started crying.  The poor kid has always had a sensitivity to noise and lately has been nervous around loud things.  So it was Steffie to the rescue, after speaking to her coach, the coach of the hosting club, the announcer and some official looking guy, we had a happy little diver.  They let her dive with no intro, announcing of her dives, or scores. She quite happily did a cannonball and then a star jump in a category all her own and even took home a ribbon.  She was so pround of herself, and said "Stef! that was fun!" :)  Izzy choose not to dive this year. She is sticking to swimming and she is good at it. More to come after the first Swim meet :)

summer reading

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is read.  I love sitting by the pool or in the yard under a tree with a book.  I don't have an e-reader because I really like the feel of a book.  I am starting off the summer reding The Girl Who Played With Fire and so far I love it.  I am hoping to read quite a few books before school starts again.  Now I just need to come up with a list of books I want to read

Summer :)

Well, here it goes, my first blog post....
I have been looking forward to this summer for quite some time now.  The school year was great and I LOVE my job but it was time for a break. Preschool graduation was awesome and the little boy i am an aide to didn't even need any help crossing the stage in his power chair to recieve his diploma.I am so proud of how far he has come.  (I am SO lucky to be able to see him on a weekly basis to play at his house he is a great kid and we have fun together) I am going back to babysitting for the summer. I will be with my favorite girls, Isabella and Inga.  Last week was the first week with them and we had a great time. I took them to the central library, out for lunch, they each had a playdate, we played tennis, had plenty of sunny pool time and even had some campfires in their backyard.  I am hoping for some great adventures with them this summer :)
